How I help small businesses in just 90 minutes

The biggest transformation and accountability you get is by working with me for at least three months. But I also help clients in just 90 minutes, during my so called ‘Lightbulb sessions’. Because, sometimes, all you need is a dedicated hour-and-a-half with an expert to bounce ideas of, to sift through the chaos, and to make a plan. Clear the decks, lift the fog. Most of my clients struggle with overwhelm and lack of focus, and this one-off session is ideal for that. This is how I help small businesses in just 90 minutes.

How I help small businesses find focus

Liam had so many ideas, that he didn’t know what to choose. His interests were nature photography, interior design, and he was also dreaming of owning a holiday let in the future. He was currently an online teacher, but wanted to start a side hustle that potentially could grow into a full-time creative business. He booked a Lightbulb session with me to get some help, and we spent 90 minutes on Zoom.

It was a challenging search operation at first, trying to find that diamond, and the main thing to focus on. He thought of becoming a luxury real estate photographer, because “that would pay well.”

However, soon we discovered that he wasn’t feeling much excitement for this idea at all, really. It felt dead and soulless. He didn’t even see himself do that kind of work in ten years time. And getting into that industry was probably not that easy without a solid portfolio, either. So, a lot of red flags, and no foundation for building a sustainable creative business.

Then, what? Selling art prints of his photographs would also be a tough journey without any existing network, but with a lot of online competition. And interior design was not his main business interest either, but rather a thing he liked doing. We paused for a moment, and then dug a little deeper.

Thinking outside the box

What he really loved, though, was conceptual, creative thinking. Coming up with ideas, and bringing them to life. He got bored easily, he told me, so he loves working on different projects, rather than one long-term thing. Why don’t you combine all of it? I asked. He looked puzzled.

I said:”Why don’t you offer to restyle other people’s holiday lets and help them create amazing concepts for their guests, take gorgeous photographs of their spaces for their ads, and meanwhile learn from your clients about the whole holiday let industry that you want to be in yourself in the future? You may even be able to sell them a couple of your art prints for their interior.

His eyes lit up.

I am not sure who got more excited about this business idea, him or me, but the remaining time of our Lightbulb session we were on fire 🔥 Planning it out, giving it shape, brainstorming the first steps towards manifesting this project.

This is what working with a creative business coach can look like. And this is what just 90 minutes with me on Zoom can do for you. I help you turn mud into a clear flowing river. Energy flows, excitement is ignited. Out of the box thinking.

My Lightbulb sessions light you up

This is just one example of many 90-minute sessions I have had with clients. Not all of them are this conceptual. Often, we work on messaging, or a strategy for marketing their business better. And not all of them are working as a creative professionals, either.

Just last week, I worked with an autistic bookkeeper. He wanted to attract more clients ‘on the spectrum’, as well as business owners with adhd, because he felt he could really understand and help them. His messaging, however, was not clear enough. And with an autistic brain, he also struggled to put his message into clear wording. So with him, I spent 90 minutes on improving his message and copy for his website.

Graphic designers, illustrators, authors, podcasters, coaches, online course providers, you name it, I can help any of these small businesses during 90 minutes. You can tell me in advance what you want to work on, and we structure the session in such a way that you walk away with results. My clients love the fact that in such a short time, you get tons of value.

Book a Lightbulb session

I usually have slots each week for clients wanting to book a Lightbulb session with me. Once you pay, you get access to my calendar and you can schedule your preferred day and time. You also get sent a worksheet beforehand, which will help us both to prepare.
